The streets of London and San Francisco are your playground in this wacky car racing simulator
Racing on the city streets is both illegal and dangerous, regardless of how much of an experienced driver you are, or how powerful your car is. Alternatively, you can satisfy your curiosity by doing it in a virtual environment, thanks to the large number of racing simulators that give you the opportunity to avoid the negative consequences and just have some fun.
Wacky races on the streets of London
Midtown Madness 2 is a game that features intense races on the busy streets of London and San Francisco, although the atmosphere is slightly more relaxed. Thus, a healthy dose of humor makes the races a bit easier to handle, but that doesn't mean you cannot take them seriously. Hence, even if the other drivers might shout funny commentary at you whenever you break traffic rules, the competitions are not in any way easy, while the opponents do everything in their power to beat you.
Naturally, the two available cities are different from each other when it comes to environment and the type of vehicles that roam the streets. Thus, while you can admire the iconic double decker in London, San Francisco has the Golden Gate bridge, as well as a more American collection of cars. Moreover, as you have probably guessed, the side on which you drive changes whenever you jump from one city to the other, which makes for some very interesting transitions, to say the least.

A hefty collection of vehicles
Midtown Madness Download
To avoid getting bored, the more races you win, better and more powerful cars are unlocked, which can then be driven in any of the available modes. The collection includes a pretty wide range of vehicles, including the Ford Mustang GT, a bus, a truck, as well as many others. As for the game modes, beside the self-explanatory checkpoint and circuit, there's also a cruise mode, which basically allows you to drive through the city as much as you want.
The joyride can be made more interesting by using the available settings, such as the weather, traffic density, number of cop cars and how many pedestrians to populate the sidewalks. Thus, whenever you get tired of racing against AI opponents, you can just relax and explore the metropolis, or go on a bender and use the truck to cause havoc all around you.
A classic racing game from another era
In the end, Midtown Madness 2 can supply you with endless amounts of fun and entertainment, especially if you consider the fact that there are quite a few game modes available, while the joyrides can practically last forever.

Midtown Madness 3 is a 2003 open worldracing video game published on the Xbox. It is the third game in the Midtown Madness series.
The game was developed by Digital Illusions CE and published by Microsoft Game Studios. This marked a change from the developer of the first two games, Angel Studios, which had moved on to work on the Midnight Club series. The Xbox-only release and change of developer heralded a significant graphical improvement to maintain the console's graphical standards.
Gameplay[edit]
As with the previous games in the series, the player drives any of several different vehicles around open world maps modeled on real-life cities. Midtown Madness 3 recreates the cities of Paris and Washington, D.C. in the game. The city maps cover smaller areas than the real-life cities, though they are larger than their comparable counterparts in Midtown Madness and Midtown Madness 2. In single-player mode, the player can freely roam, race, or complete objective-based missions. In 'Cruise' (free roam) mode, the player can modify the number of pedestrians and amount of traffic, change the weather and season, the time of day and the season, and collect car-specific paint jobs, in a car selected by the user. In 'Blitz' races, the player goes through all the given checkpoints in any order and races to the finish line before time runs out. In 'Checkpoint' races, the player goes through the checkpoints in any order and gets to the finish line before their opponents. In the 'Work Undercover' mission mode, the player attempts to complete driving-based objectives that vary for each city: in Paris, the player works as a delivery guy, taxi driver, chauffeur, security guard, ambulance driver, police officer, and special agent, while in Washington, D.C., the player works as a pizza delivery man, rental car driver, limo driver, car salesman, stunt driver, police officer, and private eye.
The game supported Xbox Live for online multiplayer gaming, and featured a split-screen mode for offline multiplayer. Extra downloadable content was available via Xbox Live to expand the game's original premise. 'Capture the Gold' is a mode where gold is stashed around the city and the player must take it to a hideout. Other players will attempt to steal the gold. 'Checkpoint' has players race against others on pre-defined tracks around the city. 'Cruise' is a free-roam mode around the city with others. In 'Hunter', one player starts off as the Hunter and everyone else in the game is Prey. As the Hunter captures Prey, they in turn become Hunters, and the last person who is Prey stands alone as the winner. 'Stayaway' is a mode where whoever holds the rabbit for the longest time wins. 'Tag' is a mode where players chase each other and try to bump each other's cars.
